Launched in 2020 by the Social Cohesion Plan of the City of Fleurus, in response to the COVID-19 health crisis, the Color4Seniors project aims to bring comfort and joy to elderly people, particularly during difficult and isolating periods. This original initiative is based on an intergenerational exchange: children send colorful drawings and artistic creations to seniors, bringing a touch of color and warmth in their daily lives.
During the pandemic, when the isolation of seniors was particularly marked, Color4Seniors helped to break loneliness and comfort residents in retirement homes. The drawings sent by the children brought not only joy, but also a precious link between generations. These creations have thus allowed seniors to feel less isolated and to receive benevolent attention.
Since then, twice a year, on the occasion of Easter and end-of-year celebrations, the Color4Seniors project comes back to life. The drawings sent for the end-of-year celebrations will have a very special place, bringing to the elderly a true “balm to the heart” in this period where the spirit of sharing and solidarity is more than ever necessary.
En combinant l’art, l’échange et la convivialité, Color4Seniors continue ainsi de renforcer les liens entre les générations et de soutenir le bien-être des personnes âgées dans un cadre chaleureux et stimulant.
